Heran Kebede Lemma (hey•rrahn kuh•buh•duh luh•ma) is an Ethiopian filmmaker and photographer, whose focus is on the intimate, the ephemeral, and the collective — with particular focus on the intersection of personal narrative and collective experience.

Born in Ethiopia, she moved to Maryland at 4 years old and currently resides in Oakland, CA. Memories of home, childhood, country, and identity linger in tizita ~ a blend of nostalgia for a world left behind and a longing to reconnect with self and thus with the greater collective conscious.

Whether photographing people, striking landscapes, or everyday scenes, she seeks to reveal the beauty in life's fleeting, transient nature. Her work evokes a sense of quiet reflection, inviting viewers to notice the minuscule details that weave the fabric of our shared humanity.
